Well its an original Datsun 260z. It was repainted the original "rootbeer" color at the beginning of the year. At the same time a "California" body kit was put on and painted to match the car, as well as the windows were tinted. You will notice that badges on the side of the car read "280Z". This is a 1974 260Z, the factory badges were removed when in the paintbooth, and the guy that ordered them mistakened the car for a 280. The car also has 15" aftermarket racing wheels wrapped with cobra race spec tires attached to a new factory suspension and a front anti sway bar. The tranny is a 4-speed rockcrusher. The motor is the original L26 inline 6 motor that is newly rebuilt. While the motor was out of the car, aftermarket pistons, and a cam was put in along with a webber tripple carburator system. Among installation of the motor a new ceramic header was installed for an exhaust upgrade, as well as full 3" piping all the way to the stock muffler and a chrome valve cover. All this is wired up to a Crane Cams ignition with a fireball coil, 10mm plug wires, and NGK plugs. However its still running the stock distributor. As far as the interior, its all original with the exception of a dash mat, and some furry seat covers. I originally purchased this car to turn it into a drift project. But to me, the cars just to beautiful to abuse, so now its more or less my weekend rider. While it may not be the newest 370z, or Supra or RX-7, its my baby. Future plans? I am considering throwing on some carbon fiber. Hood, trunk, taillight section, and fender flairs more or less. And im debating over painting it black or a dark silver. I may ...far in the future, replace the motor with a RB25DET, but we'll see.
